Wolfgang Ecke publishes a series of Solve it yourself books, with each tale being between 5-10 pages, and finishing with a question. There are a large amount of reprints in various language, so it's difficult to track all editions of these books, and illustrations vary between each reprint, but they are nonetheless enjoyable to read, with some of the puzzles being quite clever
