A creature whodunit in pop-up form
A very creative puzzle book, in the form of a pop-up mystery, closely related to Iain Smyth's "Pop Up Whodunit" series.
WIth less of a focus on a boardgame aesthetic and more on a classic 'Clue' style whodunit, the illustrations are great. The characters and set's have the feel of Graeme Base's 'The Eleventh Hour', with animals dressed in regal attire at a dinner party, and ultimately the reader must deduce a culprit whoe stole the jewels from this cast of creatures.
Lady Penelope Pig hires Inspector Derek Dog to guard the biggest diamond in the world, which she plans to display at her dinner party. When the lights go out during a storm, the diamond disappears. Pop-ups, pull-outs, and flaps animate each moment of this deliciously droll mystery spoof.
