Stewart Cowley
Adventure puzzle books with transparent pages
Stewart Cowley authors two books in this series, following a hero, Hope Newman, navigating both a jungle/Mayan temple and a Pirate ship
The real hook of these books is Brian Lee's illustrations, which alone are stylistically well done, but more bought to life with the central transparent are on each page - effectively making each page a portal where you can see through to the next pages
While this is eye-grabbing for readers, frankly the puzzles are near impossible to solve, often with no real idea of what to find or where to find it. Nonetheless it's an enjoyable, if short series
A three-dimensional book with windows about a young archaeologist who, while searching for ancient cities, agrees to help recover a sacred stone which is stolen from a friendly tribe. Includes mysterious clues and challenging puzzles to give readers an active part in Hope's dangerous search.
The followup to Stewart Cowley's puzzle Adventure "The Sacred Stone".
