A quirky puzzle book with a torch to find clues
A trend of kids activity books, mainly popular in the 2000s, had pages darkly colored beneath a translucent layover, where a reader could hold a torch underneath the sheet to give the illusion of it being illuminated. With these books Orloff and illustrator Jamie Smith have achieved somethign similar where kids can follow the mystery, and discover clues, such as a hidden suspect, or a trail around the illustration, to help solve it. The series had Seargent Sally, a female police officer, as the main protagonist in various settings.
