Sherban Young
2009
Two selected books from sometimes-puzzle author Sherban Young, both featuring many short crime tales to solve.
Sherban Young is the author of several series of humorous crime stories - the "Fleeting" series (Fleeting Memory/Note/Promise), the "Double" series (Double Talk/Dover), etc, and tries his hand at short detective puzzles.
Both 'Dead Men DO Tell Tales' and 'Deadly Allusions' gather 60 tales - a huge amount of short mysteries with some being clue based, and some logic based - that are byte sized puzzles to solve.
Each is usually only two simple pages long, with no illustrations inside, and a hints and answers page towards the back. These are not a strict series, but are his only current puzzle stories.
Do the "Barroom Crawl," in which a man walks into a bar—and doesn't walk out. Take a shot at "Billiard Blues" to discover murder right on cue, and "Hang On" to find a telemarketer permanently disconnected. These witty whodunits will challenge your knowledge of trivia with mysteries involving literature, art, music, history, baseball, and other pop-culture subjects.
