1969-1975

A classic 'Minute Mystery' series, with each chapter describing a crime to be solved using clues within the story.

Two Minute Mysteries

A popular collection of books from Donald J Sobol of classic 'minute mysteries', this series contains only text - no illustrations. Each puzzle is usually only 2 pages long, with answer immediately following (upside down - of course).

Sobol authored the popular Encyclopedia Brown books - a similar series with a return main detective protagonist, but this series sticks to a much simpler format - straightforward puzzles presented in singular chapters.

Some books are a little dated, with some puzzles requiring 'general knowledge' of things, rather than all information provided in the story itself, but these are classic and rewarding mysteries that set the tone for later series in the same genre.

Multiple reprints and covers were spawned off the original, with the most popular being the Scholastic books, and they've generally stood the test of time with their intriguing puzzles.
